Hybrid variants use the same set of plays to draw from, but utilize them a bit less. So a West Coast offense will match on West Coast plays and make strong use of them. A West Coast Hybrid offense will still match on the West Coast plays but won't use them as strongly, thus allowing other plays to be used in the playbook.
