Not every player can be a mentor. Some rules on players likely to be mentors:
- Look for veterans (10-ish years experience or more)
- Various for relevant player traits, such as "role model"
- Look for very smart/high intelligence guys.
- Overall doesn't matter a lot (but may impact some of the mentor settings).
Once you identify the mentors (they have light bulb icons by their names) you can set them to attempt to mentor another player.
Click on the player to view his card. Then under the Bio tab an option for Mentoring appears.
Select your approach (different approaches may work better with certain players, so if one approach doesn't work try another)
Select your focus. Most of the mentoring focuses will affect personality, morale, and internal social type adjustments. They can also affect team morale and fan approval.
Mentoring with a Skill focus may help the player with position skill ratings in certain cases, but shouldn't be considered a replacement for playing time or standard weekly training.
Select the player to attempt to make a connection with. If they hit it off you will see benefits of the mentor relationship over time. This could take several weeks before the connection occurs.
